The 2023 IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Summer School and Summit Forum was successfully held from August 24th to 27th at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in Shenzhen. The event was approved and sponsored by the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) and organized by the IEEE CIS Shenzhen Chapter. It was also supported by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of SUSTech, the Research Institute of Trustworthy Autonomous Systems (RITAS), and the IEEE Young Professionals Affinity Group.
The event united over 400 global experts and professionals specializing in Computational Intelligence. The event facilitated knowledge exchange, highlighted by the participation of 16 IEEE Fellows and 7 Editors-in-Chiefs of prestigious IEEE journals. With a focus on cutting-edge research and technological advancements, the gathering inspired emerging scholars to drive innovation in Computational Intelligence and invigorate the field.
During the opening ceremony, Professor Yao Xin, an IEEE Fellow and Head of Department of Computer Science and Engineering at SUSTech, joined Ms. Long Jing, Associate Director of SUSTech Global, in a warm welcome speech. They highlighted the immense value of Computational Intelligence and expressed optimism that events like the summer school would enhance collaboration among researchers. This united platform aims to nurture talent, promote interdisciplinary advancements, and facilitate international learning opportunities for the field’s growth and innovation within the country.
